The Smartlead columns
Smartlead is a cold email sequencer. The file has these columns, in this order. Rating and review counts are left out of every tool layout.
| Column | What it holds |
|---|---|
email | The email address read from the company's own website. |
first_name | The owner's first name, split from the owner name where the company's site gives one; blank when it does not. |
last_name | The owner's last name, split the same way; blank for a single name. |
company_name | The business name. |
phone_number | The main phone number in +1 format. |
website | The company's website, where it has one. |
location | City and state, as one field. |
city | City. |
state | Two-letter state code. |
category | The trade the business was graded into. |
pitch_tags | Pitch angles on the row, such as no website or site down, separated by semicolons. |
email_status | valid, risky or unverified: the result of our SMTP mailbox check. |
email_type | role for a shared inbox such as info@, personal for a named mailbox. |
no_website | yes when the business has no website. |
site_down | yes when its website did not load when last checked. |
timezone | The business's time zone, for send windows. |
Import steps in Smartlead
- In Smartlead, go to Engage, then Campaigns, select the campaign and choose Edit.
- In the Import Leads section choose Import CSV and pick the 67Leads file.
- Set the import options (for example, skip leads already in another campaign) and save.
- Smartlead detects its default fields; map the other columns to custom variables, or set any you do not need to Ignore, then finish the import.
What Smartlead's import requires
- Up to 40 custom variables per lead.
- Placeholders in your copy, such as {{first_name}}, must match the variable names you mapped.
Smartlead also takes leads without a file: Send to Instantly / Smartlead in the export bar adds the leads you export to a campaign with your Smartlead API key.

Filters worth setting
- Leave the default on: only emails our mailbox check confirmed valid. Adding risky addresses grows the list and the bounce risk with it.
- Use Email_Status and Email_Type in your copy rules: a role inbox such as info@ reads a cold email differently from a named owner.
- Pitch tags such as no website or site down give a first line that is true for that business.

No. The headers follow Smartlead's own import documentation, linked on this page. Check the mapping screen Smartlead shows anyway; it is quick.
Yes. Besides the CSV, the app can add the leads you export to a Smartlead campaign directly with your Smartlead API key, from Send to Instantly / Smartlead in the export bar.
Each row says valid, risky or unverified. 7,056 addresses (12% of those on file) were confirmed by asking the mail server whether the mailbox exists. If an email we marked valid hard-bounces, tell us and we credit it back. Addresses marked risky or unknown carry no such guarantee.
