These are counts of businesses in the 67Leads warehouse, built from public business listings and company websites across the cities we have covered so far, with listings that are another kind of business removed. They are not a census, and cities we have not covered are missing. For an official count of establishments by industry, see the US Census Bureau County Business Patterns (checked 4 Nov 2026).

What the data is

One row per US local business with a phone number, across 134,345 businesses in the trades we cover, with listings graded as another kind of business removed and opted-out businesses left out.
For each: whether the listing names a website, whether that site loaded when our crawler checked it, any email and owner name published on the company's own site, and its review count and rating.
No people database: no job titles, no employees, no consumer data.

How it is built

Companies come from public map listings and are graded against the trade; rejected rows are never sold. Emails are read from the company's own website, then checked over SMTP by asking the mail server whether the mailbox exists. Nothing is sent. Headline findings

From the State of Local Business Websites 2026

As of 5 Nov 2026, 18% of the 134,345 US local businesses in the 67Leads warehouse list no website (24,610 businesses).
By trade, the share with no website runs from 32% among tree service companies to 2% among law firms.
Among states with at least 50 businesses, Wyoming has the highest no-website share (43%) and Maryland the lowest (9%).
10% of the 77,326 listed websites our crawler tried to load did not load at all (7,649 sites).
35% of businesses that publish an email on their own site use a free mailbox such as Gmail, Yahoo or Outlook rather than an address at their own domain (15,545 of 44,205).
6% of the businesses name an owner on their own website (7,996).
Businesses with no website have a median of 6 Google reviews, against 55 for businesses with one; 39% of them have 10 or more.
1,843 businesses rated 4.5 stars or higher with 50 or more reviews still list no website.
