Free homepage mockup (web design): a three-step sequence

Email 1 Day 0
Subject: A homepage for {{company}}

Hi {{first_name|there}},

{{company}} has {{review_count}} reviews on Google but no website on the listing, so people who find you there can only call.

I'd like to make you a free mockup of a {{company}} homepage: your services, your best reviews, your phone number and the {{city}} area you cover, on one page. It takes me [time], you keep the image either way, and there's no call needed.

Should I make it?

Subject: Re: A homepage for {{company}}

Hi {{first_name|there}},

I went ahead and sketched it: [link to the mockup image]. The top shows [one true detail you used, e.g. their best review or a service they list].

If you like it, I can have it live in [turnaround] for [your price]. If not, no problem, it's yours to keep.

Subject: Should I take the mockup down?

Hi {{first_name|there}},

Last note from me. I'll keep the {{company}} mockup for [days] in case you want it. After that I'll delete it. A one-word reply either way is fine.

Merge fields ({{first_name}}, {{company}}, {{review_count}}) match the columns of a 67Leads export; rename them to your sending tool's syntax. Text in [brackets] is for you to fill in with something true.

Before you send

US commercial email law (CAN-SPAM) requires a subject line that is not misleading, your real postal address in every message, a clear way to opt out, and that you honour an opt-out within 10 business days. The footer above covers the address and the opt-out; keep it. Business phone numbers are not consent to text or auto-dial. Send from a separate domain, start slowly, and verify the list first: a bounced address costs sender reputation.

Questions

What should a cold email to a local business say?

One true observation about that business, what you do for businesses like it, and one easy question. Keep it under 100 words and send at most two follow-ups.

What is the best angle for selling websites to local businesses?

Businesses with no website, especially well-reviewed ones: they are busy and visible on the map, with nowhere to send the people who find them. The no-website finder counts them for any trade and city.

Do I need to verify emails before sending?

Yes. Bounces hurt the sending domain. 67Leads labels each address verified, catch-all or unverified, and an export can be limited to verified addresses.

Where do the numbers come from?

From the 67Leads warehouse at the moment the page is served: public map listings graded against the trade, with off-trade rows removed, and emails read from each company's own website. Nothing is estimated.
