Content is 1 of 4 deliverability factors

Where a message lands depends on four things, and the words are the one you control last. A clean draft from an unauthenticated, brand-new domain sending 500 emails on day one still lands in spam.

  1. Authentication. SPF, DKIM and DMARC records on the sending domain. Google requires all three from anyone sending 5,000 or more messages a day to Gmail.
  2. Reputation. The domain's and the IP's history: bounces, spam complaints and how many recipients reply. A new domain has none and must build it slowly.
  3. Volume. How many messages a mailbox sends and how fast that number grows. Sudden jumps look like a compromised account.
  4. Content. The words, links, images and formatting. This tool checks this one only.

How this works

The checker runs in this page's server code, on the text you paste, and stores nothing. It matches 109 phrases, whole words only and case-insensitive (so "free" is flagged and "freedom" is not), in five groups:

The list is written by hand for cold email to local businesses. It is a writing aid, not a copy of any filter: spam filters weigh hundreds of signals and do not block a message for one word. The score starts at 100 and loses points for each phrase (scam-like wording costs most), for more than one link, for images, for repeated exclamation marks and ALL-CAPS words, for running past about 120 words, for a generic first line, and for merge fields that a 67Leads export does not fill. Merge fields are read as {{field}} or {{field|fallback}}.

Questions

Will my cold email go to spam?

Content is one of four factors. Authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), the sending domain's reputation and how fast volume grows matter as much or more. A clean draft lowers the content risk; it does not guarantee the inbox.

What are spam trigger words in cold email?

Words that read like ads or scams to a filter and to the reader: free, guaranteed, act now, click here, limited time, risk-free, congratulations. One of them will not sink a message, but several together with links and exclamation marks often do.

How long should a cold email be?

Under about 120 words, with at most one link and no images. A short, plain message from one person to one business is what a reply looks like.

Which merge fields does a 67Leads export fill?

company, city, state, owner_name, first_name, last_name, rating, review_count, website and the other columns of the CSV. Fields like sender_name or your_postal_address are yours to fill in your sending tool.

Does this tool store my email?

No. The text is checked when the page is served and is not saved. Results are not indexed by search engines.
