How this works

When you press Check, our server makes live DNS lookups for the one domain you typed, with a 3 second limit per lookup and 4 seconds in total: the TXT records at the domain (SPF), the TXT record at _dmarc (DMARC), the MX records, and the DKIM key at your selector if you give one. SPF lookups are counted across include, a, mx, ptr, exists and redirect, following includes up to 3 levels. Nothing is stored and results are not cached.

What Gmail and Yahoo require

Google's guidelines for senders of more than 5,000 messages a day to Gmail require SPF and DKIM, a DMARC record (a policy of p=none is accepted), From: domain alignment with SPF or DKIM, one-click unsubscribe for marketing mail, and a spam rate below 0.30%. Source: Google, Email sender guidelines (checked 4 Nov 2026). Gmail began rejecting non-compliant traffic outright in November 2025, and Yahoo's rules mirror Google's: Red Sift, Bulk email sender requirements (checked 4 Nov 2026).

This checker covers the DNS part. It cannot see alignment, unsubscribe headers or spam rates; those depend on how each message is sent.

Questions

Is my domain ready for cold email?

It is ready on the DNS side when it has exactly one SPF record under 10 lookups, a DMARC record with a policy, MX records so replies arrive, and DKIM signing turned on. Type the domain above for a yes or no.

What DMARC policy do Gmail and Yahoo require?

Google's sender guidelines accept p=none. A rua address is worth adding so you receive the reports that show who is sending as your domain.

Why does SPF have a 10 lookup limit?

The SPF standard caps the DNS lookups a receiver will make. Past 10, SPF returns a permanent error and the mail fails SPF. Each include, a, mx, ptr, exists and redirect counts.

How do I check DKIM?

DKIM keys live at <selector>._domainkey.<domain>. Google Workspace uses the selector google by default and Microsoft 365 uses selector1 and selector2. Enter yours in the selector box.

Should I send cold email from my main domain?

Many senders use a separate domain so a reputation problem cannot reach their main inbox. The campaign calculator shows how many domains a volume needs.
