How we measured

Each row counts the businesses 67Leads lists for that trade and place: public Google Maps listings graded against the trade (off-trade rows removed), with a phone number, and not opted out. No website: the listing gives no website. Site down: it lists one and none of its pages loaded when our enrichment last visited, as a share of those with a website. With email: an address was read from the company's own website. Free-mail: that address is at gmail.com, yahoo.com, hotmail.com, aol.com, outlook.com, icloud.com, as a share of those with an email. Verified: the company's mail server confirmed the mailbox exists; nothing was sent. Owner name: an owner was named on the site or listing. These are the businesses we track, not every business that exists, so they are shares, not national totals. For official counts of US businesses see the Census Statistics of U.S. Businesses, which does not record websites or email.

Questions

What share of local businesses have no website?

As of 5 Nov 2026, 18.8% of the 110,603 US local businesses listed on Google Maps that 67Leads tracks have no website, and 34.3% of those with an email on file use a free Gmail/Yahoo-type address.

How many local businesses use a Gmail or Yahoo address?

The free-mail column is the share of businesses with an email whose address is at Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, Outlook or iCloud. Pick a trade or state above for its figure.

What does site down mean?

The business lists a website on its map listing, and none of its pages loaded when 67Leads last visited. It is a pitch angle for web designers, not a permanent state.

Is this every business in the US?

No. It covers the Google-Maps-listed businesses 67Leads tracks, in the trades and cities scraped so far. It is not a census; coverage differs by trade and state.

Where do the numbers come from?

From the 67Leads warehouse when the page is served: public map listings graded against the trade, with off-trade rows and opted-out businesses removed, and emails read from each company's own website. Nothing is estimated.
